I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Drug Dealing and Drugs Use, which people in and around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on recent Lancashire Talking surveys completed.

We continue to actively target drug use and drugs dealers and just wanted to highlight some of the things we have been doing. 

Your neighbourhood policing team have been working with our Housing Partners at Community Gateway, Places for People, Progress Housing and Jigsaw Housing to tackle this issue. Over the last month we have completed over 15 joint visits at various residential properties where drugs activity has been either suggested or reported. From these visits combined with community intelligence you have passed, we have issued (2) two CPWs (community protection warnings) for cannabis use, an Injunction Order against a resident prohibiting them from areas where they have been drugs dealing and issued numerous tenancy warnings for suspected use. All information we receive is fed into our intelligence systems which can be used to obtain warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. 

During early Nov 2025 information supplied by members of the community led to police attending an address in Ingol suspected of drugs use and dealing. A Section 23 search under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 resulted in a small amount of cannabis being located and a male being issued a Community Resolution. Information passed enabled us to ensure that safeguarding measures for children at the address could be put into place. 

Following recent complaints from the community around the car park areas of Hanover Court and the park areas off Dovedale Close being used as locations to take drugs, your neighbourhood officers have spent time over the last couple of weeks, particularly in the evenings, patrolling the area on foot to deter those involved in drug supply and take action against those involved. 

This week officers have seized a quantity of nitrous oxide cannisters (class C drug) found secreted, thrown and hidden in these areas. Enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible. This is just one box containing 6 cannisters. In total we seized more than 30+
